“Here’s a blast from my checkered past. Meet Lockjaw the Loggerhead!
This was drawn in May 1990 for a proposed low-budget monster movie — to be shot in Ohio, if memory serves, and my connection was via my friend Ryan Brown (of TMNT, Bog and Cowboys of Moo Mesa fame). It was, to my knowledge, never made, and nothing ever came of this. I’d forgotten completely about it until I turned up these drawings unpacking the archives this weekend!
I even sketched some ideas for how Lockjaw might be realized as a full-sized monster suit with animatronic puppet heads for closeups.
Lockjaw was drawn just one month after I had submitted a similar concept (at the time rejected, or so I thought) for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toy concept, Terrorpin the Terrible…
Clearly, I was intent upon somebody, somewhere recognizing the overlooked monster potential in ‘casting’ a snapping turtle hybrid in some sort of villainous role!
After all this, I eventually ‘cast’ a prehistoric turtle in a key role in S.R. Bissette’s Tyrant® (see Tyrant #4). These obsessions always find an expression in a story at some point. ” – S.R. Bissette
Like i’ve said .. “Tokka is the Kevin Bacon of TMNT”. It’s all connected to the Snapper, baby !!
Clearly .. as of this posting and revelation , you can see the love for classic Kaiju and Giant Monsters ( especially TURTLE-ey ones ) and that influence on so much of Bissette’s, Ryan Brown’s , Steve Murphy’s and Mirage’s work !! !!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -Retailers Tell Us to Expect a ‘Complete’ Season 7 Set in November
4-disc package coming from Lionsgate in time for the holiday shopping season
Posted by David Lambert

This past May 12th saw the DVD release of the 7th season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the classic animated series from the ’80s. But in order to buy it, fans had to pick up four different releases, as the episodes were split up among 4 different single-disc “slices” (that included a pack-in toy, each with a different Turtle from among the group). A number of fans objected to this, and decided to hold off and hope Lionsgate would release the four DVDs all together at some point.
Our retail contacts have informed us that such a day is coming, and sooner than some fans probably thought! The studio is tentatively planning on a November 3rd release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Season 7 as a “complete” 4-DVD season set. No other details are available yet, and that includes no pricing or package art. But it’s logical to assume that this will be the same four discs as were previously sold separately, just re-wrapped inside of a single package.
As weird as it may seem, don’t forget that this release will be happeing AFTER Lionsgate’s September 1st release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Season 8 on DVD (which is a MUCH shorter season, in episode count). That’s a title we DO have package art for, so we’ll remind you of it with the picture below. Stay tuned for updates about the Complete Season 7 set, and we’ll bring them to you just as soon as we can!

Well, it is my pleasure to announce to you that I have convinced Mike-Sama to join the GoGreenMachine.Org Team as our newest writer! Ebay Alert: GobbledyGook 1 & 2 on Ebay
August 1, 2009
In the effort of full disclosure, this is an auction belonging to one of our staff writers, Terminator.
If you follow this blog, you probably don’t need me to tell you that GobbledyGook 1 and 2 are THE copper age grails. These books were put together by hand by Kevin and Peter themselves, and pre-date the Ninja Turtles (infact here is an add for TMNT #1 on the back of the books).
Normally I wouldn’t do this, but I will vouch for the authenticity of this particular set, as I own a set myself, and have known ALL previous owners of this set personally. Be one of only 50 possible people in the world to own a set of these books (as only 50 copies were ever printed). Click the pic to go directly to the auction.
***Terminator Note***
Thanks, Steph for putting this up for me. I did want to add that this auction will end on Monday and if it does not sell, then this will be the ONLY time I will offer my second set for sale. I know its a high price (and deservedly so IMO) so if it doesn’t sell, then oh well. I’ll have to be content to have 2 of these amazing sets in my collection!
